Service Tip #1 � Engine oil is a major factor in the performance and service life of the engine. Always use the proper grade of oil for the lowest temperature.
Service Tip #2 � Check your oil on your motorcycle while the engine is warm. Engine oil cannot be properly checked while the engine is cold. Perform Oil Level Hot Check as follows:
1.��� Ride the motorcycle until the engine is at normal operating temperature
2.��� With the vehicle resting on the jiffy stand on level ground, allow the engine to idle for 1-2 minutes.
3.��� Remove and wipe off the dipstick. Insert it back with the plug pushed completely into the fill spout.
4.��� Remove the dipstick and note the level of the oil. Add only enough oil to bring the level to the full mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
5.��� Start engine and carefully check for oil leaks around the drain plug and oil filter.
